EQUIPMENT

A calmer start begins with a bike check

A simple preparation routine for the evening before your next ride.

Cycling and ride preparation

Start with a clean look

Inspect your bike in good light. Look for visible tire damage, loose accessories and anything that has changed since the previous ride. If something appears damaged or insecure, have it checked before riding.

Check the essentials

Confirm tire pressure against the tire and rim manufacturers’ guidance. Check that wheels are secured according to the manufacturer’s instructions and that both brakes operate. Use the recommended torque and installation procedure for your components.

Pack for your setup

Carry repair supplies that match your tires and valves. Check that your pump works and that you know how to use the equipment you carry. Charge lights and confirm that mounts are secure.

Keep a maintenance note

Record unusual noises or shifting problems instead of relying on memory. Ask a qualified mechanic to resolve issues you cannot confidently assess. Leave enough time before an event for a proper check.
