    THE SCREEN SETUP GUIDE

Know what to show. Understand why.

Start with the everyday Workout page, use Lap for individual efforts, and keep review screens out of your main riding view. Fewer useful fields are often easier to read than a crowded screen.

    1. Choose your purpose.
Training, racing, navigation or reviewing the ride.

    2. Put priorities first.
Move the metrics you use most to the top. On Wahoo, zoom keeps those fields visible.

    3. Apply and test.
Pair sensors, set your own zones, then recreate the layout on your computer and try it on an easy ride.

    Recommended screens

Open a recommendation for coaching context, or load it in the customizer above.

    Workout Your everyday riding page

This is the page to spend most of your training time on. Three-second power smooths the immediate readout, while speed, cadence and heart rate help put the effort in context. Active time excludes pauses; time of day helps you keep the rest of your day on track.

Set the fields you check most often near the top. If you do not use a power meter or compatible electronic shifting, replace those fields with average speed, maximum speed or ascent. Start with the recommended list, then remove anything you rarely read.

Lap Make each effort its own ride

Use the lap button to separate intervals or race segments. Lap active time is useful for a timed effort, while lap distance and lap average power describe what has happened since the last lap started.

Keep current power beside lap average power so you can compare what you are doing now with the whole effort. Lap number can help you count repetitions. Lap speed gives context, but wind, terrain and drafting also affect it.

Average & Maximum Review without leaving the ride

A separate averages and maximums page keeps review data from crowding your main riding screen. Compare whole-ride power, speed, cadence and heart rate when you have a suitable moment to look.

Use average values to understand the ride as a whole. Maximum readings describe a brief peak and can also reveal a sensor spike. Review this page during an easy section or after stopping, rather than during a demanding effort.

Power A deeper look at your power

This page collects work in kilojoules, training stress and best power over different durations. It is a useful secondary page for riders who want to review what they have done during a session.

Check that your device supports each field and that your power meter and athlete settings are configured. If a metric is unavailable, replace it. Energy estimates give context; they are not a direct instruction for how much to eat.

    Use Power preset ↗
    Navigation Keep the map simple

When following a planned course, the map and distance to the next cue are the essentials. A clear map is easier to read than a map surrounded by every ride statistic.

Load the route before you leave and check the start direction. You can move the map later in your page order on familiar routes. The builder map is an illustration, not a route you can follow.

    Use Navigation preset ↗
Heart Rate See where the ride time went

The guide pairs a heart rate zone graph with time spent in each zone. It gives you a view of the distribution of effort without waiting to open a training platform after the ride.

Program your own heart rate zones on the computer before using this page. Keep average heart rate as a useful summary, and replace energy estimates if you do not find them helpful. The sample times here do not prescribe a training session.

    Use Heart Rate preset ↗
Power Zones Keep your zone system consistent

The original guide uses eight power zones and displays time in every zone beside a graph. The purpose is to understand the ride’s effort distribution while keeping your primary page clear.

Use the same zone definitions as your coaching plan. Eight zones are an example from the guide, not a requirement for every rider or device. Remove surplus zone fields or choose a smaller set if that is what your device supports.

    Use Power Zones preset ↗
Planned Workout Know the target and what comes next

During a structured session, target power, three-second power, cadence and heart rate help you follow the effort. Remaining interval time and the interval count answer two practical questions: how long is left, and which repetition is this?

Load the workout before starting, check that the target settings match your current plan, and distinguish interval time from whole-workout time. Indoors, you may prefer removing speed and using the space for cadence or remaining time.
